RANT ONE

Early on in life I, Martin F. Hennigan, lived in a time where there was time for habitual doodles, listening to constant criticism for drawing the nude human figure and engaging in frequent verbal outbursts of protestation against the myriad of injustices I found so prevalent in this world. In hindsight and with the precise insight of a philosopher, I distinguish this particular time period as my childhood.

   "I mean, it must have been. I was so much younger and smaller than my parents for so many of those years. It really couldn't have been anything else."  

Times have changed, now things are so much more different. The wealth and volume of life experiences of over half a century of living show on my face, which is framed in a silver beard and mane. Presently, I spend time in my studio, habitually doodling, working on paintings--most include the nude human figure (which are frequently banned)--and delivering passionate verbal outbursts of protestation against the myriad of injustices I find so prevalent in the world.

Why the angry old artist? WHY THE HELL NOT! America is a beautiful country and the Constitution is the greatest document ever written. I am quite sure when a race of human beings are found that can actually live up to it, the world will be a safer place.

Instead I have to deal with these idiot American’ts who rule this country. Yes, rule is the right word. You know the type. The people that greet every new idea, concept and opportunity with “You can’t….. “   I love history and am fascinated to be part of this historical era when Bush became the first American’t president presiding over a nation full of American’ts. While the American’ts may be the majority they are not the only ones here. One day soon the real Americans will be heard. I can’t wait!  I won’t have the desire to be angry anymore. Until that day, with the despicable treatment of children, the elderly, women, the arts and artists, the poor, the sick, God and the planet being so violently maltreated, with less liberties and injustice for more and more of us, I will remain full throttled pissed off.
